Centre for Parent-Child Counselling & Training
Connect is a reflective practice that holds space for the emotional lives of individuals, families and the institutions that care for them.
A team of counsellors, psychologists, therapists and educators trained in psychodynamic and developmental thinking.
We believe meaningful change begins in a relationship where one feels seen, heard and understood.
What we experience on the surface often holds a deeper story.
A child’s outburst, a parent’s exhaustion, a teacher’s frustration - these are what we see on the surface. Beneath them are attachments, histories, emotions, and unspoken communications waiting to be understood.
Our role is not to remove discomfort quickly, but to make sense of it together. When we begin to understand what lies beneath, new possibilities for change can emerge.
Three perspectives, held together.
Psychodynamic
Attending to the unconscious life, to what is communicated beyond words.
Developmental
Understanding the person in the context of their age, stage of development, experiences, and emerging capacities.
Relational
Recognizing that meaningful change takes shape within relationships, including the relationship we build in therapy.
